Information you provide
When you enquire, we receive your name, email address and message, plus any country, project reference, measurements or other details you choose to share. We use these to discuss your project and reply. Your name, email and message are needed for the website form; the other fields are optional. You can also contact us by telephone or email.
An enquiry is not a newsletter subscription. We do not use this website for advertising tracking, profiling or automated decisions about customers.
Why we use your information
We use information about a proposed order to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to fulfil an order if you proceed (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). For general correspondence and website security, we rely on our legitimate interests in answering questions, operating the website and preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f)). We process privacy requests and legally required records to meet our legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
Where enquiries go
Bacloud provides our website hosting and business mailbox. Messages sent to info@oakborndesign.com are retained in that mailbox and forwarded to the maker’s Gmail inbox so that he can respond. Replies may therefore come from his Gmail address. Google provides the Gmail service. We share enquiry information only as needed to respond, arrange your requested work or meet a legal obligation.
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Its published data-transfer information describes the safeguards it uses, including adequacy frameworks and standard contractual clauses where applicable. You can contact us for further information about the services used for your enquiry.

How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept while we discuss your project and handle any related follow-up. When an enquiry is closed, we review whether the messages are still needed for an agreed order, an unresolved issue, a specific legal claim or a legal record-keeping duty. Messages that are no longer needed for any of these purposes are removed. The relevant stage of the enquiry, any resulting order and applicable legal duties determine the retention period.
Mailbox copies are managed manually; the website does not automatically erase emails. Any removal needs to cover both the business mailbox and the forwarded copy. Records connected with completed orders, invoices or disputes may need to be kept separately for the applicable legal period.
Language choice and cookies
On a visit to the main website address, the server uses your IP address to choose Lithuanian for Lithuania and English for other or unknown countries. The lookup uses a local country database; it does not send your IP address to an external geolocation service. It is not precise location tracking and may be wrong, especially with a VPN or mobile connection.
When you choose EN or LT, the oakborn_lang cookie remembers that choice for 180 days. Direct English and Lithuanian links remain available. The contact form also uses a session cookie to protect submissions against misuse. Its browser lifetime is the session, and form authorisation expires after one hour. You can remove cookies in your browser; doing so clears the saved language and may interrupt a form submission.
The website contains no advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts and project images are served with the website. Country data is provided by DB-IP under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.
Technical information
The hosting service processes connection information such as your IP address, request time, requested page and browser information to deliver and protect the website. The form uses an IP-derived identifier and submission times to limit repeated requests; these records contain no enquiry message. Technical records are used for operation, abuse prevention and investigating errors, rather than advertising.
Technical information is kept only while needed for those purposes, subject to hosting backup and log cycles or a specific incident that needs investigation. You can ask us about the records relevant to your visit.
WhatsApp and external links
The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with a draft message. It sends nothing automatically. If you use that service, WhatsApp processes information under its own privacy terms. Our website does not embed a WhatsApp chat widget.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to provide access to your personal information, correct it, erase it or restrict its use, subject to the conditions and exceptions in data protection law. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and request portability where that right applies. Contact info@oakborndesign.com; we may need proportionate information to verify your identity.
You can complain to Lithuania’s State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI), or the competent data protection authority where you live or work. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the chance to resolve a concern.
